LUCKNOW/KANPUR: Refusing to allegedly sanction 1,400 gun licences on the recommendations of local leaders of the Samajwadi Party (SP), said to be close relatives of chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, proved costly for district magistrate (DM) of Mainpuri, Chandra Prakash.
Already on long leave, there's a possibility that he may be suspended for having adhered to the rule book rather than dance to the tunes of SP leaders.

On the hit-list of the powers-that-be, Chandra Prakash loaded his bag and baggage on a DCM truck booked from a transporter on Station Road on November 20 morning and moved out of Mainpuri.
