KANPUR: Seven persons, including three employees of the COD and one of the income tax department, were killed and two were injured when the tempo in which they were travelling collided with a tanker coming from the opposite direction in Akbarpur in Kanpur Dehat on Monday morning. The accident victims were returning from the marraige ceremony of a COD, employee Surendra Awasthi's son Narendra Awasthi who is a tempo driver. Surendra Awasthi lives in Kendranchal colony and the marriage took place in Bahadurpur in Akbarpur.

The city police on Saturday caught seven people, including five doctors, for allegedly performing pre-natal sex determination tests.
