KMC seizes 2 shops

Kanpur Municipal Corporation (KMC) on Wednesday seized two shops to recover general tax pending against them. A team led by zonal officer Rajeev Shukla and tax superintendant Vinay Kumar Maurya went to two houses of ward number 15 to recover pending general house tax to the tune of Rs 1.5 lakhs. When the house owners failed to pay the tax the team sealed two shops.

Kanpur: Kanpur Municipal Corporation (KMC) on Wednesday seized two shops to recover general tax pending against them. A team led by zonal officer Rajeev Shukla and tax superintendant Vinay Kumar Maurya went to two houses of ward number 15 to recover pending general house tax to the tune of Rs 1.5 lakhs. When the house owners failed to pay the tax the team sealed two shops.
Enforcement wing of zone - 4 of KMC bulldozed a tin-shed and a bathroom near Ghantaghar in Swarup Nagar and seized more than 50 hand carts from roads. The squad confiscated two cycles from the bus stand near LLR Hospital and seized four bags of drinking water pouches.
The squad also demolished five tarpaulin sheds and seized 20 hand carts from Swarup Nagar road and five hand carts from Madhuraj Nursing Home area.
At Arya Nagar crossing and Rajeev petrol pump, the squad seized one truck gravel and asked the five shopkeepers to remove their goods from the footpath. The squad also realized Rs 300 as user charges from the shop keepers who were using footpaths.
