The WNBA star Caitlin Clark misses playing in the league, and this is evident from her recent Instagram story. Earlier on Wednesday, the Indiana Fever star posted a photo on her Instagram story to reflect on her love for the game. Indeed, she misses playing basketball. This is because, recently, she suffered a groin injury that kept her out of almost all the games. Caitlin Clark has only played 13 games this year, and the impact of the injury seems to be overshadowing her love for basketball. And last week, the Fever star confirmed that neither she would be able to return for the remaining season, nor for the playoffs.
Caitlin Clark pens emotional message on Instagram, saying she misses playing basketball
Life hasn’t been fair to the Fever star right after her groin injury. Sidelined since July 15, Caitlin Clark penned an emotional message on Instagram and posted a photo with her fans and followers. She wrote, “I miss this so bad”. She also confirmed last week that she is going to miss the remaining season and the playoffs. The injury kept her out of almost all the games, and she played only 13 of them this year.
“I had hoped to share a better update, but I will not be returning to play this season”, the Indiana Fever star said last week.
“I spent hours in the gym every day with the singular goal of getting back out there, disappointed isn't a big enough word to describe how I am feeling”. Caitlin Clark is an outstanding player, and her absence is surely felt by her peers. Fans are hoping for her return in the next season.
Caitlin Clark will be kept out for the remaining season
After July 15, the Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has been missing all the games. This is due to a major groin injury that she suffered during a match against the Connecticut Sun. Last week, the WNBA star confirmed that she would be missing the rest of the season as well as the playoffs.
In the new generation of players, such as Angel Reese, Cameron Brink, and Paige Bueckers, the WNBA has been growing tremendously. However, Caitlin Clark’s absence has been nothing less than a disappointment for herself, the franchise, as well as the league.
Sports Journalist Jordan Robinson had much to say about the Fever star’s groin injury. “Injuries happen for all different reasons,” Jordan Robinson said. “But Caitlin Clark only playing 13 games this season due to injury is an unfortunate reality of what could happen if this wild pace of the WNBA season continues”. Caitlin Clark’s absence is felt throughout the league, as this will hugely impact her career, fewer fans, and lower ratings.
