Influencer Estee Williams’ newborn on full life support after cardiac arrest

Social media influencer Estee Williams is living every parent’s worst fear. Her three-month-old daughter, Estelle, went into cardiac arrest in the middle of the night. The baby is now on full life support.Williams shared the heartbreaking update on Instagram. “My little Estelle went into cardiac arrest,” she wrote.“Chest compressions were done for 47 minutes.”The baby is now supported by an ECMO machine.It is keeping her heart and lungs working.The emergency began early Tuesday morning.Baby Estelle suddenly stopped breathing.Her skin turned blue.Estee and her husband rushed her to the hospital.Doctors tried everything.Medication was given to raise her oxygen levels.But soon, her breathing changed again.Her oxygen dropped into the 60s.She had no pulse.Doctors started CPR.It lasted nearly an hour.Estelle’s health struggles began just hours after birth.She was diagnosed with congenital heart defects only 14 hours after being born on September 5.In her short life, she has already faced multiple open-heart surgeries.Her first major surgery happened on November 20.She was just 11 weeks old.Doctors found a rare and very large hole in her heart.It measured 30 millimetres.Her tiny heart had to be cut to place a patch.She was on a heart-lung machine for almost four hours.For a baby, that is a very long time.Despite nearly an hour of CPR, there is hope.Doctors confirmed Estelle’s brain is still functioning normally.The ECMO machine has helped stabilize her condition.Doctors are now planning the next step.Estelle will soon receive a Berlin Heart device.It is a type of heart pump for children.This device will keep her alive until she can receive a heart transplant.The waiting time can be three to six months.Her family calls the future donor her “angel hero heart.”Estee Williams is a stay-at-home mother based in Virginia.She has over 100,000 followers on Instagram.In her post, Estee asked for one thing.“Please keep my sweet girl in your prayers,” she wrote.
