Some childhood stories cross borders so effortlessly that they feel like they belong everywhere at once. One such story is that of a musician who looks like a globetrotter on a passport, but whose heart and memories are deeply rooted in India.
While the world today has been reduced to where identity is often reduced to passports and surnames, her journey shows how “home” can be something far more emotional.

Bali-based musician Bianca Nieddu recently opened up about her unusual but emotional childhood journey, in which India became the centre of her world. Born to a Canadian mother and an Italian father, Bianca spent her initial years not in North America or Europe, but in India, a place she still returns to and calls home in many ways.
A viral post on her Instagram profile, with the caption "so cute," has gathered around 559K views and several comments and reshares. In the video, she shares various nostalgic still photos of her parents who belong to different countries, but fell in love in India and decided to raise her in the nation. They chose to raise her in India, giving her a life filled with local traditions, festivals, and strong community bonds.
Her childhood was surrounded by Indian culture and families
According to an interview with Hindustan Times’ HT.com, Bianca explained how her life in India began almost from birth. She shared, “I’ve been in India since I was 3 months old, I stayed in India for 16 years and then went to Bali and London for a few years, and now I’m in between Bali and India! My mom has been living here for 30 + years.”
She also spoke fondly about one of her favourite childhood memories. “One of my favourite childhood memories was going to Ajit Bhawan, a heritage hotel to celebrate Holi! Every year we went, and I loved it! Having birthday parties at my home where all my friends came,” she told HT.com, recalling the joy of growing up surrounded by Indian culture. The video she shared on Instagram includes clips of her parents and nostalgic snippets from her early years in India.
