Raha (SC) assembly election results 2026: BJP's Sashi Kanta Das wins

Raha is a key Assembly constituency in Assam, located in the Nagaon district and reserved for candidates from the Scheduled Caste (SC) category.In the 2026 Assembly elections, the political landscape has shifted significantly. Incumbent Sashi Kanta Das, who won the 2021 election on a Congress ticket, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and won the polls with a margin of 20,594 votesPolling for this seat was held on April 9, 2026.In the 2021 Assam Assembly elections, the constituency had 2,21,878 registered voters (with 2,07,160 electors listed in the final rolls), and 1,77,332 valid votes were cast. Congress candidate Sashi Kanta Das won the seat with 89,511 votes. Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) candidate Bishnu Das finished second with 76,453 votes, losing by a margin of 13,058 votes.In the 2016 Assembly elections, Raha had 1,89,298 electors, with 1,61,627 valid votes recorded. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Dimbeswar Das won the seat with 76,941 votes, defeating Congress candidate Sashi Kanta Das, who secured 43,867 votes. The victory margin was 33,074 votes.
