Road connectivity between villages and markets, upgrading government schools and health centres, and controlling seasonal out‑migration for work are recurring concerns noted in district‑level livelihood assessments.Pingla is a general (non‑reserved) seat under the Ghatal Lok Sabha constituency, represented by TMC MP Deepak Adhikari (Dev), who retained the parliamentary seat in 2024 with a margin of over 1.8 lakh votes, reinforcing Trinamool’s organisational edge across this belt. Historically, the area was a stronghold of the Democratic Socialist Party (Prabodh Chandra), before a decisive shift to TMC from 2016 onwards, marking a significant change in Left‑of‑centre rural politics here.
