Islampur is a general (unreserved) constituency in Uttar Dinajpur district of West Bengal, comprising both semi-urban and rural areas. Islampur town serves as a commercial hub for surrounding villages, giving the constituency both economic and political importance within the district. In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Islampur was won by Md. Faruque of the TMC, who defeated his nearest rival from the BJP by a margin of approximately 10,200 votes, reinforcing the ruling party's presence in the constituency.
