Rekha Patra of the Bharatiya Janata Party has won the Hingalganj constituency with 1,00,207 votes. She defeated Ananda Sarkar of the All India Trinamool Congress, who secured 94,786 votes, by a margin of 5,421 votes.Hingalganj is a remote, riverine Scheduled Caste-reserved constituency in North 24 Parganas, located on the edge of the Sundarbans, part of the Basirhat Lok Sabha seat. The area is geographically isolated, with limited road connectivity, and depends heavily on agricultural and fishing activities. In 2026, TMC has fielded Ananda Sarkar against BJP's Rekha Patra.In 2021, TMC's Debes Mandal won with 1,04,706 votes, defeating BJP's Nemai Das by 24,916 votes. In 2016, Mandal also won for TMC with 94,753 votes, defeating the CPI candidate by 30,304 votes. In 2011, CPI's Anandamay Mandal had won by a slender 1,015 votes. TMC has consolidated steadily here since 2016.
