Hailakandi Election Results 2026: BJP's Milon Das wins against Congress's Rahul Roy

NEW DELHI: Milon Das of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the Hailakandi constituency with 1,19,591 votes, defeating Congress candidate Rahul Roy by a margin of 55,817 votes. Roy secured 63,774 votes. Independent candidate Subash Goon finished third with 699 votes.Thirteen candidates contested from Hailakandi in Assam's 2026 Assembly Election, along with NOTA.Hailakandi assembly constituency is one of the 126 constituencies in the Assam Legislative Assembly. It is a general category seat and is part of the Karimganj Lok Sabha constituency.In the 2021 assembly elections, the seat was won by the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF). Candidate Zakir Hussain Laskar defeated BJP's Milon Das by a margin of 23,754 votes.According to Election Commission data, the Hailakandi constituency had 1,29,031 registered voters in the 2021 assembly elections. This included 68,076 male voters and 59,555 female voters, with no third-gender voters recorded.In the 2016 elections, the total number of voters stood at 1,12,995, comprising 61,639 male and 50,864 female voters.
