BJP's Soma Thakur won against TMC's Madhupurna Thakur from Bagda constituency.Bagdah is a Scheduled Caste-reserved constituency in North 24 Parganas district, closely associated with the Matua community and historically significant in Bengali refugee politics. Once a Left Front stronghold, it has become a fierce TMC-BJP battleground. In 2026, TMC has fielded sitting MLA Madhupurna Thakur against BJP's Soma Thakur. In 2021, BJP's Biswajit Das won the seat after defecting from TMC, defeating TMC's Paritosh Kumar Saha by 9,792 votes. However, Das later returned to TMC and resigned his seat, triggering a 2024 by-election in which Madhupurna Thakur of TMC won by a massive margin of 33,455 votes. In 2016, Congress held the seat with 1,02,026 votes, defeating TMC by 12,236 votes. In 2011, TMC's Upendra Nath Biswas won with 91,821 votes.
