Donald Trump spent Christmas Eve at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, attending a lavish holiday dinner alongside close family members, including First Lady Melania Trump, 55, and her father Viktor Knavs, 81, who is just two years older than the former president.



The trio was seated together at a Christmas Eve dinner on Wednesday night at the Florida resort, which Forbes valued at $325 million in 2023. Video footage from the event, now circulating online, shows Knavs animatedly speaking with his daughter as Melania leans in to listen. Trump, seated beside them, appeared withdrawn as the conversation unfolded.




A lip reader claimed Melania quietly warned her husband that he “can’t make a fool” of himself during the exchange.



In a clip from the livestream shared by Fox News on X, Trump can be seen sitting next to Melania and her father as the conversation continues. Forensic lip-reading expert Nicola Hickling, speaking to Irish Star, described what she believes was said between the couple.



Hickling said the interaction began with Melania telling Trump twice to smile. Trump then turned to Knavs and responded to something he had said by remarking, “You know, you’re right, Viktor, I like talking to people. Chatting, checking in with the people.”



According to Hickling, Melania then interjected, saying, “Yeah, he likes chatting,” while nodding. Trump later asked his wife, “Are you comfortable?” to which she replied that she was, before adding, “It’s such an expected thing, you can’t make a fool of yourself.”



The exchange drew sharp reactions online, with critics mocking Trump’s demeanor at the table. One user wrote, "Holiday appearances may shape perception, but leadership is defined more by policy and governance than by optics."



Another wrote, "He looks lonely and miserable."



Viewers also pointed out moments where Trump seemed to realize he was on camera mid-conversation. At one point, he attempted to brush off the situation by waving at the camera, clenching his fist, and making a circular hand gesture. He eventually managed to rejoin the discussion — moments before Melania’s warning that he “can’t make a fool” of himself.
