Visakhapatnam: A 34-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances, and her 16-year-old son went missing at Dolapeta in Rajam of Vizianagaram district. The deceased was identified as M Spandana and his son, M Sushanth.
The police and locals said Spandana's husband, Rajesh, is an employee with a private educational institution in Rajam.
Spandana visited her sister's home at Rajam on Monday and invited her family for the local deity festival at her husband's hometown, Metavalasa, under Bobbili mandal, and she returned to her home on Monday morning.
When Spandana's husband went to the house on Monday afternoon for lunch, the house was locked. Though he called her to trace her location, Spandana's phone remained switched off.
Suspecting that Spandana might have gone somewhere, Rajesh went to his workplace. When he returned home in the evening, the house remained locked.
Sensing something wrong, he searched for her and found the dead Spandana in a water body near the house.
Based on the information, the police led by inspector Srinivasa Rao visited the spot and found some injury marks on the body.
The police said Spandana's son, Sushanth, who passed class 10 and is waiting to join college, also went missing on the same day.
Rajesh claimed that someone had entered their home and stolen some valuables. The police said they found some blood stains in the house.
We have formed a special team to intensify the investigation to ascertain the death of the woman and to trace the missing boy, the police added.
