AP RTE phase-II lottery allots 10,453 seats in private schools
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh school education department on Tuesday released the second phase lottery results for admissions under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, allotting 10,453 seats to students from economically weaker sections in private schools for the 2026–27 academic year.According to Samagra Shiksha state project director B Srinivasa Rao, a total of 54,647 applications were received across the state, of which 54,016 were found eligible. In the first phase, 30,075 students within a 1-km radius of schools were allotted seats, while the second phase covered students residing within a 1-5 km radius. Parents of selected students have been informed through SMS, and the results are also available on the official website.Officials said students allotted seats must confirm their admissions between May 6 and May 17 by visiting the respective schools with required documents, including Aadhaar cards, income and caste certificates, birth certificate, and ration card. The department has directed school managements to strictly adhere to norms and complete admissions after document verification. Authorities warned that action will be taken against institutions denying admission without valid reasons. The admissions process will be monitored at the district level by Samagra Shiksha officials.
