Vadodara: A watchman at a construction site in Dahod was allegedly murdered after he objected to the theft of scrap steel rods from the premises, police said on Thursday.The deceased, identified as Manu Parmar (50), had recently started working at the construction site on Raliyati Road. He stayed alone in a tin shanty at the site. Workers arriving at the site on Wednesday morning found Parmar lying in a pool of blood and informed the Dahod town police.During preliminary investigations, police found that the victim had sustained fatal head injuries caused by a blunt object. Officials also noted that the body had a towel wrapped around the waist.Police collected CCTV footage from areas surrounding the construction site and gathered information through local sources, which helped them identify a suspect.The accused was identified as Dripal Amaliyar, a resident of the same locality where the murder took place. During questioning, Amaliyar allegedly confessed that he had gone to the site to steal scrap steel rods and other discarded materials.
