Watch: Railway overbridge under construction collapses in Gujarat's Anand district
Officials are investigating the cause of the collapse of the approach girders, which is being treated as a minor incident.
VADODARA: A section of an under-construction railway overbridge (ROB) near Adas village in Anand district of Gujarat collapsed on Saturday. No injuries or casualties were reported in the accident.Preliminary information stated that the ROB between Vadod and Adas Road stations had been under construction for a long time. On Saturday, a portion of the approach structure between two pillars suddenly gave way. The collapse resulted in significant damage to the structure under construction.Following the incident, officials from the concerned agencies along with technical experts rushed to the spot and initiated an inquiry to determine the cause of the collapse.

Vadodara Railway Division public relations officer Anubhav Saxena said the ROB over Level Crossing No. 250 between Vadod and Adas Road stations is being executed by the Gati Shakti Unit of the Vadodara Division, PTI reported.
Calling it a “minor incident”, Saxena said the collapse involved approach girders during construction activities.“The incident site is located far from the railway tracks. There has been no impact on train operations or road traffic, and no diversion has been required,” he said.
Railway authorities said officials and representatives of the concerned agencies were present at the site and remedial work was underway. Authorities informed that all essential safety measures were being taken to ensure the safe and timely completion of the project.(With PTI inputs)
