A large-scale demolition drive is underway in Delhi's Shalimar Bagh, where authorities have launched action against nearly 150 constructions as part of a road-widening project. The operation began after the expiry of the notice period issued to affected property owners. Heavy security, including paramilitary forces and Delhi Police personnel, has been deployed to maintain law and order during the exercise. Senior officials, including the DCP, ACP and officers from multiple districts, are present at the site to supervise the operation. Authorities say the drive is aimed at clearing encroachments and facilitating planned infrastructure expansion to improve traffic movement and connectivity in the area.
