Trichy: Admissions for the 2026–27 academic year have begun at govt higher secondary school for visually impaired girls in Puthur, offering free residential education and specialised learning support for students from Classes I to XII.
District collector T Saravanan said in a statement that the school provides education tailored to the needs of visually impaired students through Braille learning, audiobooks and computer training conducted by specialised teachers.
The school, functioning under the department for the welfare of the differently abled, also provides hostel accommodation with safety measures, quality food, uniforms, medical check-ups and educational aids free of cost. The hostel is supervised by a female warden. The school recorded a 100% pass rate in govt public examinations for the last eight years.
