Teen suffers head injury as tree branch falls on her

T'puram: An 18-year-old student sustained head injuries after a tree branch fell on her near University College on Friday morning.The injured was identified as Shreya. The incident occurred around 8.30am when she got off a bus at Palayam and was walking along the footpath in front of University College on her way to an institute where she was studying.According to witnesses, a large tree branch suddenly broke off and fell on the girl. The impact caused her to collapse onto the footpath, resulting in grievous injuries to her head. Panic gripped the area as passers-by rushed to help the student.Security staff of a nearby hotel were the first to respond. They immediately shifted the injured student inside the hotel premises and provided first aid. Shreya was later taken to general hospital. However, as her condition was found to be serious, doctors referred her to MCH for specialized treatment, where she is currently undergoing treatment. TNN
