Police officer shoots wife dead after quarrel, attempts suicide in Jammu and Kashmir
SRINAGAR: A police officer allegedly shot his wife dead and then shot himself in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said on Saturday.The officer identified as Deep Singh, a probationary sub-inspector (PSI) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police posted at a Special Operations Group (SOG) camp in the Kandi area of north Kashmir.According to officials, they had a quarrel with his wife Bhawana late on Friday night. During the argument, Singh allegedly opened fire on his wife in a fit of rage, killing her on the spot, officials said. He later allegedly shot himself and suffered critical injuries. He is currently undergoing treatment at SKIMS hospital in Srinagar.
