Man arrested for sexually harassing two minor girls near Namakkal

NAMAKKAL: A 50-year-old man was arrested on Saturday on charges of sexually harassing two minor girls in Pallipalayam in Namakkal district.The arrested man, identified as S Ravi from Salem district, was working at a textile shop in Pallipalayam and stayed at a relative’s house. " Ravi came to know that a 13-year-old girl and her seven-year-old sister were alone at their home while their parents were away. On Thursday, he approached them in an intoxicated state and sexually harassed them," said an officer at the Pallipalayam police station. The girls informed their parents when they returned home. The parents lodged a complaint with the Pallipalayam police. Based on their complaint, police registered a case and launched a search operation. Ravi was arrested on Saturday morning and remanded in judicial custody.
