Daltonganj: Two men died after a huge mound of mud wall collapsed on them in Palamu district on Friday afternoon.
The incident took place at Pahargeruwa village, around 15 km from Bishrampur police station.
Police identified the deceased as Satish Rajak, 20, and Dukhi Bhuiyan, 60.
"The mud wall was of a dilapidated house belonging to Satish Rajak and repair work was on when a huge chunk of the mud wall fell on the two, leading to their death," said Bishrampur police station officer-in-charge Rishikesh Dubey.
Dukhi was Rajak's next-door neighbour.
Police said Rajak's family brought his body to MMCH Daltonganj, where doctors declared him brought dead. However, the family later refused post-mortem in writing and took the body back, said Mahender, in-charge of the police chowki at MMCH.
"The family brought the body here, but when the doctor declared him brought dead, the family took the body back without post-mortem," added the police chowki in-charge.
Police said Dukhi Bhuiyan's family did not bring his body to MMCH Daltonganj.
Investigators said no foul play was suspected in the case. An UD (unnatural death) case has been registered.
