Hazaribag: Four people were seriously injured in a road accident in Jharkhand’s Giridih district on Sunday after a tyre of the vehicle they were travelling in exploded, police said.
The accident occurred on GT Road near Hesla village within the limits of the Bagodar police station of the district. All four injured are from Hazaribag and are natives of Maharashtra, police added.
One of the rear tyres of the SUV exploded due to which the car went out of control and crashed. There were five people in the car. Four people were seriously injured in the accident, out of which the condition of two is critical. However, the driver of the vehicle escaped unhurt.
Bagodar police station in-charge Binay Kumar Yadav reached the spot and immediately sent the injured to Bagodar Community Health Centre. After first aid, three were referred to Hazaribag for better treatment. The injured have been identified as Asif Khan, Krishna Mirdha, Sajan Sheikh and Faizan Sheikh. Condition of Asif and Krishna is said to be critical and they have been referred to Rims, Ranchi.
The police have taken the damaged vehicle into custody and started an investigation.
Vishnugarh sub divisional police officer B N Prasad said the SUV was carrying the people from Hazaribag's Maharashtrian Colony to Bagodar, which is located on the border of Hazaribag and Giridih districts.
