Farmer, wife & son held for bludgeoning man to death
Pune: The Wadgaon Nimbalkar police on Saturday arrested a 47-year-old farmer, his second wife and their 21-year-old son, all on the charge of bludgeoning to death the man's 31-year-old son from his first marriage.The incident took place late on Friday night in Jogwadi village of Baramati taluka, around 44km from Pune city. The police identified the deceased as Suraj Gulumkar of Jogwadi."Prima facie investigations revealed that the trio bludgeoned Gulumkar to death as he used to beat his stepmother frequently," assistant police inspector Nagnath Patil of the Wadgaon Nimbalkar police told TOI.Patil also said Gulumkar was staying with his father, stepmother and stepbrother, and had an ongoing dispute with his father over his share in their farmland. "Around 9.30pm on Friday, Gulumkar started beating his stepmother once again. His father and stepbrother intervened. The trio then pushed him down and bludgeoned him to death with some tiles," the officer said."We have arrested the trio under section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)," Patil said.
