Patna: Two power Discoms—North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd (NBPDCL) and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd (SBPDCL)—are migrating to a new billing software to provide consumers with better, safer and more advanced digital services.
Due to this technical upgrade, all online electricity services will remain temporarily suspended from 7pm on May 20 to 8am on May 22. The Discoms have assured that electricity supply will not be disrupted during this period. Even if smart meter consumers are unable to recharge, power supply will continue normally, said an official.
Services such as electricity bill payments, smart prepaid meter recharges, new connection applications, load and name changes, bill corrections and other online facilities will not be available during the migration window. NBPDCL and SBPDCL have requested all consumers to complete their pending bill payments and smart prepaid recharges before the scheduled downtime to avoid any inconvenience.
