Patna: The
NDA functionaries on Tuesday welcomed the ‘Sahyog’ camps launched by CM Samrat Choudhary from Saran to address public grievances at the panchayat level, while the opposition
RJD dismissed the initiative as a “political stunt”.
Deputy CM
Vijay Kumar Choudhary described the programme as a unique democratic initiative where the administration directly reaches out to people. He also distributed symbolic cheques, sanction letters and documents related to various welfare schemes among beneficiaries.
Addressing a gathering in Patna district, Vijay said thousands of people participated in the camps and appreciated the initiative.
In Muzaffarpur, BJP leader and minister Dilip Jaiswal said the govt remained committed to building a crime-free and corruption-free Bihar.
“Only when the morale of criminal elements is broken will crime truly cease and the police also find it easier to curb criminal activity,” he said.
However, RJD spokesperson Mritunjay Tiwary questioned the govt’s intentions and termed the programme an attempt to “pull the wool over the public’s eyes”.
He alleged that the govt had failed to tackle inflation, unemployment and deteriorating law and order, and was organising such programmes merely to divert attention from its shortcomings.
