Revanth will check BJP’s rise, says Congress
Chief minister A Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad: The Congress on Tuesday accused BJP MP D Arvind of trying to mislead the people over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remark, alleging that he fears chief minister A Revanth will not only bring the Congress back to power in Telangana but also put a check on the BJP’s growth in South India and work towards making Rahul Gandhi the PM.Congress leaders, including MPs Mallu Ravi and M Anil Kumar Yadav, SC & ST welfare minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, govt whip Adi Srinivas and MLC Addanki Dayakar slammed Arvind. They said the BJP MP should first inform the people of Telangana about how many funds and project approvals he could secure from the Centre by convincing the Prime Minister. They also said he should persuade Modi to extend enhanced MSP to all crops.“This is not West Bengal or Bihar. The CM here is Revanth Reddy. He has the capability, courage, and confidence to boldly assert that he will become chief minister once again. By employing strategic counter-moves, Revanth can successfully bring the Congress back to power. He is actively working to strengthen the party across South India. Dharmapuri Arvind is merely trying to impede Revanth’s momentum. D Srinivas, Arvind’s father, spent 90% of his political career in the Congress,” Mallu Ravi said.
Rajya Sabha MP M Anil Kumar Yadav said Arvind appeared to have spoken under the effect of the ongoing heatwave in the state. “He should carry an umbrella while moving in the sun. Everyone knows there are internal differences and disputes among BJP leaders. Arvind and other BJP leaders should settle such disputes within the party. The Congress elevated your father to the position of PCC president for two terms,” he said. SC and ST welfare minister Adluri Laxman Kumar said Arvind should explain to the people why the Modi govt is increasing prices of petrol and diesel, and when he would secure approvals and funding for Telangana’s key infrastructure projects.
