CM Samrat issues directives for Shravani Mela, asks officials to ensure safety for devotees
Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Thursday directed district administrations to ensure comprehensive arrangements for the month-long Shravani fair, with a focus on crowd management, security and healthcare for devotees.Chairing a review meeting at the Samvad auditorium, the CM asked all district magistrates, SSPs and SPs to put in place effective crowd-control measures at Shivalayas, where large numbers of devotees gather to offer water during the festival. He emphasised that seamless coordination among departments was key to preventing congestion and ensuring smooth movement of pilgrims.Choudhary also stressed the need to strengthen facilities for ‘kanwariyas’ undertaking the annual pilgrimage from Sultanganj in Bhagalpur to Deoghar in Jharkhand. He directed officials to ensure adequate healthcare support near rest shelters along the route, along with proper arrangements for drinking water, sanitation and emergency services.Earlier in the meeting, revenue and land reforms department secretary Jai Singh presented a detailed status report on preparations. These included measures related to law and order, security deployment, clean drinking water, toilets and washrooms, sanitation drives, uninterrupted power supply and medical aid.
Ministers and senior officials from various departments participated in the review and shared updates on their respective responsibilities.The Shravani fair, which draws lakhs of devotees every year, requires extensive coordination across multiple districts. The CM said efforts are being made to ensure that pilgrims can complete the journey safely and with minimal inconvenience.
