Noida: An employee of an online coaching firm and his aide were arrested for allegedly abducting a senior colleague, assaulting him and forcing him to transfer money.The accused, Chandramohan Saraswat (35), an accountant and a resident of Buxar Road in Hapur, allegedly conspired with two-three accomplices to abduct his senior from the firm’s parking area in Sector 136.On March 18, Saraswat and his associates forcibly pulled the official out of his car and made him sit in their vehicle. They abused and assaulted him and pressured him to transfer money online. Under duress, the victim transferred Rs 60,000 to the accused’s account. The accused also took Rs 2.5 lakh in cash from the car and later deposited it in their bank accounts.An FIR was registered on Thursday under BNS sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (intentional insult), 351(3) (criminal intimidation), 309(4) (robbery), and 127(2) (wrongful confinement).Using surveillance and local inputs, police arrested Saraswat and co-accused Honey Baisla (27) near Biodiversity Park in Sector 91.Police recovered Rs 49,400 in cash, the victim’s ICICI Bank credit card and the WagonR used in the crime. The transferred amount was frozen, ensuring recovery. Investigators said more arrests are likely.
