Upset over 69%, Class 10 student dies by suicide in Akola

Akola: A Class 10 student, Vitthal Santosh Borde, allegedly died by suicide in Akola district after scoring lower-than-expected marks in SSC examination. A resident of Shingoli village in Akola district, Borde secured 69% in Class 10 board examination and was reportedly distressed. He went to a dam in Karanja Ramjanpur area and jumped into the water, said police.Before dying by suicide, the student posted an emotional message on social media — "I will come again, becoming everyone's favourite". This left family members and locals deeply shaken. A pall of gloom descended over the village.An accidental death case was registered at Ural police station and further investigation is underway. If any student is experiencing stress or emotional distress due to exam results, families and educators are urged to provide support and seek professional counselling, say educationists.
