Nagpur: In a major administrative reshuffle of Indian Police Service (IPS) and senior officers across Maharashtra, Nagpur city police received three new deputy commissioners of police (DCPs).
The new appointees are Annapurna Singh, Aditya Mirkhedkar and Kumar Chintha, bringing fresh faces to the city's law enforcement leadership.
Kumar Chintha, who was serving as superintendent of police (SP), Yavatmal, will now take charge as DCP in Nagpur. He replaces Nityanand Jha, who was DCP Zone 2 in Nagpur and was transferred as the new SP of Yavatmal.
Meanwhile, incumbent DCP Zone 3 Rahul Madane was granted a one-year extension, ensuring continuity in that crucial zonal role. Yogesh Gupta was also continued as DIG, Naxal Range.
In another key change, Lohit Matani, who was handling traffic as DCP in Nagpur city, was appointed as the new SP of Highway Patrol.
