Mysuru: A youth was found murdered at KN Pura in the northeast of Mysuru, in the early hours of Tuesday. His head was smashed with a boulder while he was asleep around 5 am. Police have launched a search to identify the assailants of Mohammed Umar,37, of Ghousia Nagar. Umar eked out a living by doing menial jobs, and lived on streets most of the time. It is believed that Umar was murdered by his friends who lived with him, over financial matters. Police are searching for his assailants.
Sources told police that the victim was seen quarrelling with a group of three over financial matters the previous night. Udayagiri police, who have taken up the case, have launched an investigation. Umar worked as a cook, and he also undertook odd jobs, including construction work, for a living. Regardless of how late he slept, he would wake up early and go out. He is believed to have been murdered be due to old enmity, sources claimed.
