Mumbai: Meghwadi police have arrested a doctor for his alleged involvement in a case where forged medical documents were submitted to an insurance company for getting a claim approved in 2025. More arrests are likely, said police.
Following a complaint, police got a medical examination done of the purported patient and found that no surgery had been carried out. However, medical papers submitted to the insurance company for a claim showed that he had undergone a surgery for varicose veins. Pharmacy bills had also been attached.
Police said the accused doctor runs a hospital at Kharghar, which has shut down. An investigation is on to find out who else signed the medical papers and pharmacy bills submitted to the insurance company.
