Ramanathapuram/Virudhunagar: Police apprehended a 23-year-old man from Bihar for the murder of his woman colleague following a financial dispute, while four others were arrested in a separate incident in Virudhunagar district for the murder of a relative during an inebriated brawl.According to police, Rithik, from Bihar, was staying with the victim Aparna, 38, also from Bihar, at Kenikkarai in Ramanathapuram district, for the past two weeks. Both were working at a private company. A heated argument broke out between the duo on May 3 regarding financial transactions. In a fit of rage, Rithik reportedly struck Aparna with a wooden log, resulting in her death.The accused then decamped with the victim's mobile phone, laptop, gold jewellery and other valuables before fleeing back to Bihar.According to police sources, the incident came to light on Wednesday, when police received information regarding a partially decomposed female body found inside a residence in TNSTC Nagar. Upon arriving at the scene, police identified the deceased as Aparna, who had been living in the area for around eight months.Under the direct supervision of superintendent of police G Chandeesh, four special teams were constituted to track the suspect.
Leveraging technical evidence and sustained surveillance, the teams managed to pinpoint Rithik's location.With the assistance of the Bihar police, the special teams successfully apprehended the accused. He is currently being transported back to Ramanathapuram district to undergo further legal proceedings and judicial remand.Chandeesh lauded the special teams for their efficiency and rapid response in solving the case and securing the suspect.In a separate incident at Aviyur of Virudhunagar district, police arrested four individuals who were involved in the murder of their relative Vijayaguru, 46, on Thursday.Police said that the arrested were identified as Azhagu Raja, Seemaichamy, Lingarasu and Palani Murugan.On Thursday morning, a verbal altercation broke out between the deceased and the arrested individuals in an inebriated state in Kurandi village of Aviyur. In a fit of rage, Vijayaguru was hacked to death by the four individuals. A case was registered by Aviyur police.
