Pursuit of Ludhiana robbers ends in assault for Good Samaritan.

Ludhiana: A local man's attempt to intervene in a robbery ended in a violent assault as snatchers turned on their pursuer near the city's Police Colony.Pratap Singh, of Jamalpur, was travelling towards Tajpur Road by scooter when he witnessed two men snatch a mobile phone from a commuter. He gave them a chase and cornered the pair a short distance away.However, the suspects overpowered Partap Singh during the confrontation, thrashing him before fleeing the scene. "I tried to apprehend them, but they attacked me," he told police investigators.Moti Nagar police have since identified the suspects as Shivam Verma and Manu, both residents of local colonies in Jamalpur. The investigating officer, assistant sub-inspector Ajmer Singh, said police had lodged an FIR and launched a manhunt.
