Burglars strike at CID office
Ludhiana: Some burglars targeted the CID office, located in Civil Lines and took away three ceiling fans, a table fan, two iron rods and a water motor. The accused entered the office by breaking the wall of an office room. The matter came to the light on January 1 and the police lodged an FIR against four accused persons in this matter on Tuesday. The complainant Sant Ram, a caretaker at the CID office, said that on December 23, he had locked the said room in the office complex. When he unlocked it on January 1, he found the room ransacked. He found stolen. The wall of the room was also broken, he claimed. Assistant sub-inspector of police (ASI) Janak Raj, from Division number 8 police station, said that the room where a theft had been executed was an old room and it would often remain locked, while the CID officials used to sit in another room in the complex. The police have identified the accused as Kakka, Mani, Bobby and Vijay, scrap dealer. A case has been registered against the accused.
