KOLKATA: West Bengal chief minister Suvendu Adhikari launched a fresh attack against Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee, claiming that he has obtained a list of properties linked to Abhishek’s company, Leaps and Bounds, and warning that the assets would be probed.Addressing a public gathering in Diamond Harbour, Adhikari alleged that he possesses details of multiple properties connected to the company and asserted that an investigation would follow.“Have got the list of properties of Abhishek Banerjee’s Leaps and Bounds company. Will probe them,” Adhikari said, escalating the ongoing political confrontation between the BJP and Trinamool Congress in West Bengal.Adhikari also warned Abhishek Banerjee, saying, “Will probe Abhishek Banerjee’s assets.”Meanwhile, TMC leader Tanmoy Ghosh on Sunday alleged political bias days after an FIR was filed against TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee over alleged inflammatory remarks, saying that “such selective FIRs are unacceptable.”"We have heard many provocative statements from BJP leaders. I believe that politics should be conducted with dignity. Such selective FIRs are unacceptable. This should apply to everyone; why only against Abhishek, just because the TMC lost the election? This is not acceptable at all," he told ANI.
The FIR was registered at the Bidhannagar North Cyber Crime Police Station over alleged inflammatory remarks made ahead of the elections. The case pertains to statements related to the playing of DJs and remarks directed against Union Home Minister Amit Shah.(With agency inputs)
