Man held on charge of killing friend

Kolhapur: A 42-year-old hotel owner, a resident of Kodoli town of Kolhapur district, was hacked to death on Sunday afternoon by his friend.The accused, identified as Sandip Patil, was arrested later at night. According to the police, the deceased — Abhijeet Prakash Jadhav — had taken money from Patil to start the hotel."Patil was insisting on getting his money back, but Jadhav was delaying it citing financial crunch," the officer said."This led to an altercation between the two. Patil attacked Jadhav with a metal handle used for movement of the shutter of his shop," the officer added.The metal handle hit Jadhav on the head and led to profuse bleeding. "He was rushed to CPR Hospital where doctors declared him dead," the officer said.
