65-year-old Kolhapur farmer arrested for growing ganja in sugar cane field

Kolhapur: Bhikaji Patil, a 65-year-old farmer and resident of Marali village in Kolhapur's Panhala tehsil, was arrested by the local crime branch for growing ganja in his sugar cane fields.A team of LCB personnel searched the fields upon receiving the information and found the plants that had been chopped. The plants weighed 25kg, and expected to yield ganja worth Rs 2.4 lakh.The case has been registered against Patil at the Kale police station under NDPS Act.
