Six held with drugs in separate incidents

Kochi: City police arrested six individuals with narcotic substances from two locations on Thursday.According to police, based on a tip-off, a search was conducted in room number 208 at Aquaria - The Boutique Resort in Tripunithura-Petta area. As much as 11.13g of ecstasy pills and 6.10g of MDMA, allegedly intended for sale and use, were recovered from the room. In connection with the seizure, police arrested three individuals identified as Unais, 34, of Thrikkakara, Ronish Antony, 28, of Kannadikad and Aquin Shibu, 22, of Tripunithura. In another search at a house in FACT Colony area near Ambalamedu, 19.720g of MDMA intended for sale and use was seized. Police arrested Akhil Appu, 30, and Abhishek, 28, of Puthencruz and Suraj Sunil, 27, of Karimugal. Police also recovered Rs 8,370 earned from drug sales. Further investigation is ongoing regarding the source of the drugs, police said. tnn
