Inaugural edition of Parents Cricket League concludes
Kochi: Parents swapped the sidelines for the cricket field as the inaugural edition of Parents Cricket League (PCL), featuring parent teams from nine schools across the state, concluded in the city on Sunday.Organised by Naipunya Public School, the two-day tournament brought together parents in a celebration of sportsmanship, teamwork and community bonding. Teams from Rajagiri Public School, Rajagiri Higher Secondary School, Cochin International School, Guardian Angel School, Vidhodaya School, Bhavans Varuna Vidyalaya and Perumbalam Govt Higher Secondary School participated in the tournament, along with the two host teams — NPS Strikers and NPS Fighters. Fr Simon Pallupetta, executive director of Naipunya Public School, said the initiative aimed to promote unity, healthy living, teamwork and active community participation through sports. The event also featured live streaming, expert commentary, cash prizes and special awards for outstanding players. PTA president Sibin Raghavan said the organisers plan to make the Parents Cricket League an annual sporting event with broader participation in the coming years.
