Boy found hanging at home in Kozhikode passes away

Kozhikode: A 10-year-old boy who was found hanging from the pillar at his house in Kozhikode was declared dead at a hospital on Friday. The deceased was identified as Sreerag A P of Balussery. Even as there were reports that the boy died after getting accidentally strangled while playing, police launched a detailed probe into the cause of the death. He was found hanging from a pillar on the portico of the house by relatives. Although a cloth from which he was hanging was cut and the boy was rushed to a hospital, his life couldn't be saved. Meanwhile, a 9-year-old girl sustained burn injuries after her father attempted suicide along with her by setting themselves on fire. The deceased was identified as Vinesh Kumar, 48, of Kozhikode. His daughter Amegha sustained burn injuries. According to police, the man poured some flammable liquid on himself and his daughter inside an establishment he owns and set themselves on fire.
