MLA Shanimol Osman calls for more women in Kerala cabinet

Kottayam: Aroor MLA-elect Shanimol Osman suggested that the new cabinet should have more women representation. Speaking to reporters in Alappuzha on Saturday, she added that Ramesh Chennithala, as a senior Congress functionary, should play an important role in the cabinet. Osman also said that her name is also being considered for the minister post. She said that several factors will be considered before including one in the cabinet. She added that she is a fully satisfied person. "Since the number of women MLAs are more, it is my personal suggestion that more women should be included in the cabinet," Osman said. Regarding Chennithala, Osman said, "He is a very senior leader and Congress leadership should resolve any issues he is facing." She also said that Chennithala should be included in the cabinet.
