Kanpur: A retired Air Force sergeant in Chakeri was duped of Rs7.76 lakh in a plot deal fraud. Police have registered a case of fake power of attorney and forgery and launched an investigation.
Sergeant Shivbhushan Shukla, who retired from Air Force recently, alleged that Gurujeet Diwan, a resident of Shyamnagar, cheated him of Rs 7.76 lakh in the name of arranging a plot. According to the victim, the accused told him that he held power of attorney of the said plot from SWO India. Later, the plot located at Daheli Sujanpur was registered in the name of Saroj Shukla, wife of the sergeant, in 2012.
According to the complaint, Diwan had claimed that he held a valid power of attorney from SWO India and Simba Realtors Private Limited. He had stated that a copy of the same would be provided to him, but the documents were never furnished. As a result, the mutation of the land could not be carried out. It subsequently emerged during investigation that the seller had no right to sell the said land.
Shukla had filed a complaint with police commissioner. Based on the complaint, Chakeri police registered a case against Diwan under sections of fraud and forgery. Chakeri police station in-charge Ajay Prakash Mishra said that the matter is under investigation.
