JAIPUR: More than 100 people, including children, allegedly fell ill due to food poisoning after consuming sweets served at a wedding function in Rajasthan’s Kotputli-Behror district, officials said.The incident took place in Dhani Gaskan village under the Viratnagar area, where around 105 villagers complained of vomiting and stomach pain after attending the ceremony.The sweets, including rasmalai, were prepared for the wedding function on Thursday night and distributed among villagers on Friday.Those who fell ill were admitted to the Community Health Centre in Atela. Doctors later referred 16 children and 14 adults to the Shahpura Community Health Centre for advanced treatment.Sub-Divisional Officer Kapil Kumar Upadhyay said all patients received timely medical care, and most were discharged after their condition improved. "Food samples have been collected by the food safety department and sent to the laboratory for examination," he said. Administrative and health department officials reached the spot after receiving information about the incident. (With agency inputs)
