Man booked for raping minor daughter in Khargone

Khargone: A case was registered against a man for allegedly raping his 12-year-old daughter in Chainpur area of Khargone district.The incident came to light after the minor, accompanied by her mother, approached Chainpur police to lodge a complaint.Police said on March 17, the accused was at his in-laws' house when a dispute broke out between him and his wife. Following the argument, the man left for his own village with his three children — an eldest daughter and two sons, aged 11 and 9. But, instead of completing the journey, he stopped at a nearby grain storage facility belonging to his father-in-law to spend the night.The man instructed the children to sleep at the facility. The girl, who would sleep with her mother, was uable to fall asleep alone. Following this, the man raped her in an inebriated state and fled the spot..The minor narrated the sordid tale to her mother the next day. The mother confronted her husband who threatened to kill her. Later, the mother and the daughter approached police."A rape case was registered against the accused on Friday. He was also booked under POCSO Act. A team is searching for the accused ," said Chainpur police station in-charge Gehlod Semaliya.
