Hyderabad: BRS working president
KT Rama Rao on Saturday said Prime Minister
Narendra Modi, who is visiting Hyderabad on Sunday, should announce when Bandi Sanjay will be removed as Union minister. He also questioned
Rahul Gandhi over the handling of crimes against women by the Congress govt.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is your ‘Beti Bachao’ campaign limited to being just a slogan? When will Bandi be removed from the Cabinet?” KTR asked.
Raising a series of questions, KTR sought to know why there was a delay in taking legal action against Bandi’s son, and whether Bandi and his son were being given any special exemptions under the law. He said Bandi should take moral responsibility and resign immediately, or alternatively, be dismissed from the Union cabinet without delay.
“When a woman faces sexual assault in Telangana, the Congress govt is allegedly harassing the victim instead of ensuring justice. Under Congress rule, Telangana has turned into a jungle raj,” KTR alleged.
He asked why the police failed to act even after a minor girl reportedly submitted a complaint with evidence, and why the victim had to struggle for nearly three months just to get an FIR registered.
Stating that Rahul Gandhi stood by the victim in the Unnao case, KTR asked whether he would now come to Hyderabad and stand by this victim as well. He also strongly condemned the filing of counter-cases against the victim. “Under what rule or legal provision was a minor girl booked in honey-trap and extortion cases?” he questioned.
KTR alleged that the Telangana Congress had become a ‘franchise’ of the BJP. He also questioned why the minister’s son was allegedly not being interrogated in the same manner as other accused in POCSO cases.
