Experts meet at college in Dibrugarh to tackle cyber threats
Dibrugarh: In an era where every click and connection carries potential risk, cyber security has emerged as one of the most critical concerns of modern life — shaping how people, institutions, and nations safeguard their digital identities. Recognising this growing urgency, the department of computer science of DHSK College (Autonomous), Dibrugarh, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organised an international lecture on cyber security on Monday, bringing together law enforcement officials, international academics, and students to deliberate on the challenges and responsibilities of the digital ageDelivering the welcome address, principal Sashi Kanta Saikia highlighted the relevance of the topic in today’s increasingly connected world. “Cyber security is no longer a subject limited to technology experts. It concerns every individual who uses a smartphone or the internet,” Saikia said.SSP Dibrugarh Abhijit Gurav, who attended the event, drew from his experience in law enforcement to emphasise the urgency of digital awareness among the youth.“The misuse of the internet and mobile phones is a growing menace. Students must be aware of the threats lurking in the digital space and take preventive measures to protect themselves from cyber-attacks,” Gurav said, adding that such awareness programmes benefit not just students but society at large.
