BJP-led Tripura govt fostering ethnic division: Congress
Agartala: Tripura Pradesh Congress accused BJP-led coalition govt of deliberately fostering ethnic divisions and creating an atmosphere of unrest across the state in the run-up to the elections for Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC).In a press conference, Tripura Congress spokesperson Prabir Chakraborty alleged that the two primary partners in the state’s ruling alliance have been orchestrating a fabricated political conflict to mislead citizens and instil fear among the public. Congress asserted that tensions between the hill and plain regions of Tripura started escalating during the recent electoral cycle in five other states, specifically during ADC polls. They claimed that it is the economically vulnerable tribal communities, as well as grassroots supporters of the ruling parties, who are most severely affected by this prevailing unrest.According to Congress, such incidents are not isolated but part of a larger, coordinated political strategy aimed at influencing public sentiment in preparation for the 2028 assembly polls.
